The vocabulary

Four words

Zone

An area of a venue with its own music: the dining room, the terrace, the gym floor, the lobby. Each Zone has its own Schedule, and can run on demand instead.

Schedule

A Zone's day plan: which Playlist plays at which time, with the prayer-time pauses.

Playlist

A set of tracks built from your brief by a Music Curator, reviewed for the region, and kept fresh as the venue and the season change.

Override

A Playlist chosen by staff for one session on a Zone that runs on demand.

Capabilities

What it does, line by line

Curated by people

Every Playlist is built from your brief by a Music Curator. Every Playlist is described on four axes: the business it is for, the moment it plays in, its genre and its mood. Arabic and Middle Eastern is one of the ten genres; Ramadan, Eid and National Day are among the ten moments.

Reviewed for the region

Every playlist is reviewed beyond standard explicit content filtering to ensure it is free from content that may conflict with local cultural values or the client's brand.

Prayer times

Music pauses and resumes at prayer times automatically, with pre-prayer, prayer and post-prayer windows configured to the client's requirements.

On a Schedule, or on demand

Zones can run without a Schedule. Venue staff select the Playlist for each session, and it plays as an Override for that session. Cloud Pulse builds and refreshes the Playlists; the venue chooses which one plays and when.

Five player options

The choice of player is the customer's: Pulse App on mobile and tablet, Pulse Web on PC, Pulse Sonos on Sonos systems, the Pulse Player as a dedicated device supplied preconfigured and built for demanding environments, or a per-venue stream on your existing system.

Works with any music system

Cloud Pulse services work with any music system. Speakers, amplifiers and subwoofers are the venue's choice and never determine compatibility. Compatibility is determined by the player only.

Your existing system

Where a venue already has a networked audio player or a sound system with a streaming input, Cloud Pulse integrates with the existing system: a dedicated per-venue stream plays on the existing equipment, with scheduling and prayer-time pauses applied server-side. Confirmed at the site survey.

Sonos

On Sonos systems, playback is controlled from the Sonos app on the venue's own devices, so any member of staff with access to the venue's Sonos system can choose the Playlist and adjust volume. Zone setup and Playlist delivery are managed by Cloud Pulse.

Plays through outages

Playback starts on power-up without staff involvement. Music is not interrupted by connectivity drops: the player holds a local cache and continues playing until the connection returns.

Every Zone monitored

Every Zone is monitored: live Zone status (playing, paused), player status (online or offline), remote playback control, and complete playback and log history. Head office has full visibility over all its Zones in Pulse View.

Commercial music or royalty free

Either, chosen per brand or per Zone, on the same platform. Commercial music is the artists and tracks your customers know; the venue pays the published tariff to a licensed collector. Royalty free music is licensed directly from its rights holders for business use. Designed to sit outside the collective tariff; whether a fee is owed is confirmed by the licensed collector, not by Cloud Pulse.

Licensing

Our music library is supplied for business use, with library licensing handled in coordination with EMRA, the Emirates Music Rights Association. Public performance rights are the responsibility of the venue operator under UAE law and are held in the operator's own name. Cloud Pulse assists the venue in meeting its public performance obligations; this coordination and compliance assistance is included in the subscription at no additional charge. Cloud Pulse is not a collecting society and never bills or remits public performance fees.

What we commit to

In our client documents

Two weeks, two visits

We build the Playlists in two weeks from the brief. Two site visits are included: discovery, then installation and testing.

Billing at activation

The subscription starts on the date the Zone is activated at your venue. Never on signature, never on a purchase order.

Support

Support is available during business hours, with best-effort response outside them and escalation for critical outages. Enterprise clients have a named Account Manager as their point of contact.

Questions

What venues ask

Does the music stop if the internet drops?

No. Playback starts on power-up without staff involvement. Music is not interrupted by connectivity drops: the player holds a local cache and continues playing until the connection returns.

Can head office see every venue?

Yes. Every Zone is monitored: live Zone status (playing, paused), player status (online or offline), remote playback control, and complete playback and log history. Head office has full visibility over all its Zones in Pulse View.

Do we need new hardware?

Not necessarily. The choice of player is the customer's, and on an existing system no new hardware is required: Where a venue already has a networked audio player or a sound system with a streaming input, Cloud Pulse integrates with the existing system: a dedicated per-venue stream plays on the existing equipment, with scheduling and prayer-time pauses applied server-side. Confirmed at the site survey.

When does billing start?

At activation at site: the subscription starts on the date the Zone is activated at your venue, never on signature or on a purchase order.

What does support cover?

Support is available during business hours, with best-effort response outside them and escalation for critical outages. Enterprise clients have a named Account Manager as their point of contact.

Who holds the music licence?

The venue operator, in its own name.
